A car is a consumer good, but especially in America it is also a symbol of freedom, social class and belonging to an age group. It is often said "if the walls could speak" and that is the optics I favor for my car photos, every car has a story; someone chose it because he thought it was pretty, practical; because it made him proud, because he could work with it. The cars took families on holidays, family gatherings, parties and funerals. They have been one of the central points in the life of an individual, of a family. A car is a sign of confidence when a parent gives give the keys to a teenager for a first outing at the drive-in; much more than a pile of sheet metal, cars live, die and sometimes even reborn.
